Tourni-Cot® Digit Tourniquet:
A simple, purpose-designed solution for creating a bloodless field
Tourni-Cot® is an exsanguinating digit tourniquet designed to provide quick haemostasis during procedures involving fingers and toes. Available in four sizes, it provides a simple alternative to improvised tourniquet methods and supports clear visualisation of the treatment area.
Applications
Hand
RegJoint™ is suitable for arthroplasty of small joints in the hand, including:
Carpometacarpal (CMC) Joints: Particularly effective in the CMC I joint, commonly affected by osteoarthritis.
Metacarpophalangeal (MCP) Joints: Applicable for MCP II-V joints, often impacted by rheumatoid arthritis.
Foot
In the foot, RegJoint™ addresses small joint issues such as:
Metatarsophalangeal (MTP) Joints: Effective for MTP I-V joints, providing relief in conditions like hallux rigidus
and other degenerative joint diseases.
A safer, purpose-designed approach to digit procedures
Good visibility is particularly important when treating injuries to fingers and toes. Creating a bloodless field allows clinicians to examine the wound more clearly, carefully explore for deeper injuries or foreign bodies, and carry out treatment with greater visibility.
Tourni-Cot® has been designed specifically for this purpose. During application, the device exsanguinates the digit before providing haemostasis once in place. Its highly visible design also helps reduce the risk associated with a tourniquet being inadvertently left in position after a procedure.
This provides a purpose-designed alternative to improvised methods such as surgical gloves, Penrose drains or elastic bands. These approaches can produce inconsistent or excessive pressures and may be less visible during treatment. Mar-Med also highlights that digit tourniquets can facilitate the use of tissue adhesives during wound management.

Applications of Tourni-Cot®
Emergency & minor injury care
Tourni-Cot® can be used when treating digit lacerations and other finger or toe injuries where a clear, bloodless field helps clinicians assess and manage the wound.
Foreign body exploration
Clear visualisation can help during careful exploration for retained foreign bodies or deeper injuries. Mar-Med highlights missed foreign bodies as an important complication in digit wound management.
Nail & nail bed procedures
Suitable for procedures involving nail and nail-bed injuries where haemostasis and good visibility of the treatment area are required.
Elective hand & foot procedures
Tourni-Cot® can also be used across appropriate elective procedures involving fingers or toes where temporary haemostasis is required.
Tissue adhesive application
Maintaining a bloodless field can make the application of tissue adhesives easier by helping keep the treatment area clear during wound closure.
