Genos and Mini

The GENOS MC is an internal finger distractor developed in co-operation with Dr. S. Ruf.

It is used in the reconstruction of the thumb or the meta-carpal bones after amputation and also in the correction of malformations. It allows lengthening of the metacarpal bone up to a maximum of 30mm and there is another smaller distractor available allowing lengthening of up to 23mm maximum, see GENOS Mini.

ADVANTAGES

  • Unlike traditional external distractors, used for callus distraction, the GENOS MC prevents intra-distraction angle deviation and bone flexion caused by scar formation after the fixator is removed.

  • The finger lengthening achieved by distraction enables the patient to use their hand in a normal way again.

  • No danger of infection caused by external nails

  • No external devices causing inconvenience

  • No bone graft required.

The GENOS Mini is an internal callus distractor for lengthening of the metacarpal/metatarsal.

This mini-fixator has been developed to allow the use of callus distraction for correcting infantile malformations and treating post-traumatic conditions.

It offers high stability during distraction and knitting phases and allows bone lengthening of up to 23mm.

      ADVANTAGES

      • Increases patient convenience and practicality
      • Prevents pin infection
      • An excellent alternative to callus distraction by means of an internal fixator due to its low profile and internal application.
